Carbon Footprint for Bio Presswood Pallets

Presswood Pallet Photo.jpg

Globally more than 5 billion pallets are made every year. Imagine the number of trees used for making these pallets.
The alternative to making standard wooden pallets is the presswood pallet.
Presswood pallets are made from coconut waste and other wooden waste products.
The waste product is this way given a new life, preventing it from being burned.
Burning 1 kg wood produces 1.65-1.8 kg CO2.
For every 25 kg pallet we produce, we save the environment for more than 40 kg CO2.
Our Pallet uses certified organic raw material where possible. At the moment about 50%.
We strive every day to raise the amount of organic material.
Presswood pallets are certified like plastic pallets, regarding chemical or heat treatment prior to export.
Presswood pallets can take a shower and are fairly water resistant, but for wet areas, plastic pallets are recommended.
The carbon footprint for plastic is about 6 kg CO2 per kg plastic.
A plastic pallet of 25 kg adds 150 kg CO2 to the environment.
